My name is Uwe Hofmann and for over a quarter of a century I have had a passion for working with dogs, particularly rescue dogs. Many of my dogs come from animal shelters, which makes the training experience both rewarding and challenging. In November 2019, Loui, a Magyar Vizsla male with a difficult past, came into my life and brought a breath of fresh air to my previous methods. This turn of events inspired me to start my training as a dog trainer, which I successfully completed in April 2022. Shortly after I received my certificate from the veterinary office in Pfaffenhofen a.d. Ilm in July 2022 according to §11 TierSchG.

The journey began 27 years ago when I came home from work one day and a little black Labbi mix looked up at me with his big eyes - a moment that would change my life. Since then, four Vizslas and a small Croatian Bracke have enriched my life, of which Loui (Magyar Vizsla, 5 years) and Nala (Bracke, 4 years) are still by my side.

What characterises and drives me is my role as a coach and trainer, as well as a search & rescue dog handler, a task I have carried out with enthusiasm for 25 years. My unwavering positivity, patience and joy at every little bit of progress made by the human-dog teams motivates me every day. I constantly strive to set new goals and improve my skills through ongoing training, especially in areas such as body language communication and species-appropriate activities, including nose work and mantrailing.

My wish for every human-dog team is to enable a deeper, more understanding working relationship through our training. During my training and the workshops I have attended I have learnt a lot about human-dog communication and I have noticed that many dog schools do not pay enough attention to this important aspect. I hope that with our training methods we can show a new, enriching way of working together.
